We’re making some updates in response to a new data protection regulation that will come into effect in the European Union on May 25th 2018. We’re using this opportunity to make these updates globally because we believe they’re fundamentally better for our customers and yours.

In this article we will explore some features added to WebChat in order to be in compliance with GDPR requirements

***Note all of the data stored in SQL is encrypted at rest.

***Note these features are located under the Reporting tab on the WebChat Admin Dashboard. 

Under settings we have added a option to display a consent checkbox on your chat request form(s)

Consent archiving checkbox is off by default and has to be turned on by an account admin in the admin dashboard

If the customer does not check the consent check box then they will be unable to chat or send an email.

Under Conversation History a number of features have been added.

Filter your message history by text by typing any keyword in the text box and clicking Apply

Delete conversations by clicking the delete button and and confirming the prompt box.
See a transcript of a conversation by double clicking it.
Or you can download a transcript of the conversations in either a .txt or .csv file format.

***NOTE the transcript will be of all the conversations that meet the filter criteria if there is no filter set it will be of all conversations.
